About Voyage Voyage
A personal travel log, free and open source: every trip you record takes its place on a world map, and your years of travel turn into figures, badges and memories.
Why “Voyage Voyage”?
The name is a nod to “Voyage, voyage”, the song by Desireless released in 1986, written by Jean-Michel Rivat and composed by Dominique Dubois. Carried by her deep voice and unforgettable crew cut, it got all of Europe dancing in the late 1980s and remains one of the best-known French songs abroad.
A song that makes you want to go far away, again and again: that is exactly what this site keeps a record of, one trip after another.
Thanks to Mallorie for the idea!
All the features
Recording your trips
- Seven modes of transport: plane, train, car, bus, boat, bike and on foot, each with its own colour.
- One-way or round trip, with a return date; several trips can be grouped into one journey (stopovers, a tour of Europe…).
- Places entered with autocompletion; the departure and arrival countries are found automatically.
- Airline, flight number and aircraft for planes, operator for trains. Entering a flight number (“AF1148”) fills in the airline, departure and arrival.
- Tags (holiday, work…), notes and photos on every trip and journey. Photos are stripped of their metadata, including GPS location.
- Realistic distances: road route when available, otherwise a straight line adjusted for the mode.
Import and export
- Import your flight history from Flighty or myFlightradar24: each flight becomes a trip, and round trips are recognised.
- Lossless import and export as CSV, GeoJSON and GPX, notes and journey groupings included.
- A preview before every import: untick the trips to leave out; duplicates are detected.
- Full backup (.zip, photos included) to download and import back at any time.
Map and globe
- Full-screen map: trips coloured by mode, geodesic arcs for flights, dashed return legs, clustered markers.
- “Countries visited” and “Places visited” layers (circles sized by the number of visits).
- Filters by year, period, mode, trip type, tag and search, kept in the page address.
- A 3D globe that spins on its own, which you can turn and zoom, with flights arcing above the surface.
- Replay: your trips are drawn in chronological order, with a timeline to jump to any date.
Statistics
- Key figures and charts of trips and distances per year and mode.
- One page per year: comparison with the previous year, day-by-day calendar, departures per month, new countries, highlights.
- Plane and train pages: airlines (with their logo), aircraft, airports or stations, most frequent routes.
- Estimated CO₂ for each mode, based on ADEME emission factors.
- Days away from home, nights abroad and longest time away, based on your home city.
The world, country by country
- Countries and territories visited out of 237, and the share of the world's land you have set foot on.
- Progress per continent, and regions visited in 14 large countries (US states, German Länder, French regions, Japanese prefectures…).
- Badges for all your travels and badges for each year, dated by the trip that unlocked them.
Year in review
- Your year in figures: new countries, longest trip, favourite destinations, departures per month, badges earned.
- An image ready to share on social media or to keep as a memento.
Share and plan ahead
- Read-only share links with an expiry date: map, statistics, list of journeys and year in review. Never your notes, photos or home.
- Upcoming trips: countdown, “Next departure” card, hidden by default on share links.
- Export to your calendar (.ics) or subscribe through a secret address (Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook).
Everywhere, in your language
- Interface in French, English, Spanish, German and Italian; dates, numbers and distances formatted for each language.
- Light or dark theme, on computers and phones alike.
- An app you can install on your home screen, which stays available offline.
Your data belongs to you

- Your trips stay private; audience measurement is self-hosted and you can opt out.
- Full export at any time, and account deletion from your preferences.
